74:1

Hassanor Alapa : Hay so thatanggob sa gabar 1867 (so Rasūlullāh [s.a.w])

Muhsin Khan : O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)!

Sahih International : O you who covers himself [with a garment],

Pickthall : O thou enveloped in thy cloak,

Yusuf Ali : O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)!

Shakir : O you who are clothed!

Dr. Ghali : O you shrouded (in your mantle),

Tafsir Jalalayn : O you enveloped in your mantle, the Prophet (s) (al-muddaththir is actually al-mutadaththir, but the tā’ has been assimilated with the dāl) that is to say, the one who is enwrapped in his clothes when the Revelation [Gabriel] comes down on him,

74:2

Hassanor Alapa : Tindg ka na pamarinta ka

Muhsin Khan : Arise and warn!

Sahih International : Arise and warn

Pickthall : Arise and warn!

Yusuf Ali : Arise and deliver thy warning!

Shakir : Arise and warn,

Dr. Ghali : Rise up (and) so warn!

Tafsir Jalalayn : arise and warn: threaten the people of Mecca with [punishment in] the Fire should they refuse to believe;

74:3

Hassanor Alapa : Go so Kadnan ka na sla anka

Muhsin Khan : And your Lord (Allah) magnify!

Sahih International : And your Lord glorify

Pickthall : Thy Lord magnify,

Yusuf Ali : And thy Lord do thou magnify!

Shakir : And your Lord do magnify,

Dr. Ghali : And so your Lord magnify,

Tafsir Jalalayn : and magnify your Lord, exalt [Him] above what is ascribed [to Him] by the idolaters;

74:4

Hassanor Alapa : Go so nditarn ka na soti anka

Muhsin Khan : And your garments purify!

Sahih International : And your clothing purify

Pickthall : Thy raiment purify,

Yusuf Ali : And thy garments keep free from stain!

Shakir : And your garments do purify,

Dr. Ghali : And so your clothes purify,

Tafsir Jalalayn : and purify your clothes, from impurity, or [it means] shorten them, instead of [imitating] the way in which the Arabs [are wont to] let their robes drag [behind them], out of vanity, for perhaps they will be sullied by some impurity;

74:5

Hassanor Alapa : Na so dosa a piakasisingay na tawarang anka

Muhsin Khan : And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)!

Sahih International : And uncleanliness avoid

Pickthall : Pollution shun!

Yusuf Ali : And all abomination shun!

Shakir : And uncleanness do shun,

Dr. Ghali : And so defilement forsake!

Tafsir Jalalayn : and shun [all] defilement, [this rijz] was explained by the Prophet (s) to be the graven images; in other words, persist in shunning them.

74:6

Hassanor Alapa : Go di ka phammgay sa pantag sa an ka makakowa sa balas iyan a madakl

Muhsin Khan : And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah).

Sahih International : And do not confer favor to acquire more

Pickthall : And show not favour, seeking wordly gain!

Yusuf Ali : Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)!

Shakir : And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase,

Dr. Ghali : And be not bountiful, (hoping) to gain more,

Tafsir Jalalayn : And do not grant a favour seeking greater gain (read tastakthiru as a circumstantial qualifier) in other words, do not give something in order to demand more in return: this [stipulation] is specific to the Prophet (s), since he is enjoined to [adopt] the fairest traits and the noblest of manners;

74:7

Hassanor Alapa : Go sii ko Kadnan ka na zabar ka on

Muhsin Khan : And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allah)!

Sahih International : But for your Lord be patient.

Pickthall : For the sake of thy Lord, be patient!

Yusuf Ali : But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant!

Shakir : And for the sake of your Lord, be patient.

Dr. Ghali : And to your Lord (endure) patiently!

Tafsir Jalalayn : and endure patiently for the sake of your Lord, [all His] commands and prohibitions.

74:8

Hassanor Alapa : Na amay ka iyopn so bogiong (ko bankit)

Muhsin Khan : Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing);

Sahih International : And when the trumpet is blown,

Pickthall : For when the trumpet shall sound,

Yusuf Ali : Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded,

Shakir : For when the trumpet is sounded,

Dr. Ghali : So when Trumpet is sounded (Literally: trumpeted).

Tafsir Jalalayn : For when the trumpet is sounded, when the trumpet is blown, that is, the Horn (qarn), at the second blast,

Muhsin Khan : Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day.

Sahih International : That Day will be a difficult day

Pickthall : Surely that day will be a day of anguish,

Yusuf Ali : That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,-

Shakir : That, at that time, shall be a difficult day,

Dr. Ghali : Upon that Day then it will be a difficult Day.

Tafsir Jalalayn : that day, that is to say, the time of the sounding (yawma’idhin is a substitution for the preceding subject, and is not declined because it is annexed to something that cannot be declined; the predicate of the subject [is the following]) will be a harsh day (idhā is operated by what is indicated by the statement: ishtadda’l-amru, ‘[for when the trumpet is sounded] the situation will be terrible’),

Muhsin Khan : Far from easy for the disbelievers.

Sahih International : For the disbelievers - not easy.

Pickthall : Not of ease, for disbelievers.

Yusuf Ali : Far from easy for those without Faith.

Shakir : For the unbelievers, anything but easy.

Dr. Ghali : For the disbelievers, other than being easy.

Tafsir Jalalayn : for the disbelievers, not at all easy: herein is an indication that it will be easy for believers despite its harshness.

74:11

Hassanor Alapa : Bagakn Ako nka ago so taw a inadn Akn a tibayo a bothong 1868

Muhsin Khan : Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)!

Sahih International : Leave Me with the one I created alone

Pickthall : Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely,

Yusuf Ali : Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!-

Shakir : Leave Me and him whom I created alone,

Dr. Ghali : Leave Me with him whom I created alone,

Tafsir Jalalayn : Leave Me [to deal] with him whom I created (wa-man khalaqtu is a supplement to the direct object, or [it is] an object of accompaniment) lonely (wahīdan is a circumstantial qualifier referring to the man, ‘whom’, or to the pronoun referring to it but omitted from khalaqtu [sc. khalaqtuhu]), alone, without family or wealth — this was al-Walīd b. al-Mughīra al-Makhzūmī —

74:12

Hassanor Alapa : A bigan Akn sa tamok a mammts (a di khapinda)

Muhsin Khan : And then granted him resources in abundance.

Sahih International : And to whom I granted extensive wealth

Pickthall : And then bestowed upon him ample means,

Yusuf Ali : To whom I granted resources in abundance,

Shakir : And give him vast riches,

Dr. Ghali : And set up (Literally: made) for him extensive wealth,

Tafsir Jalalayn : and [then] assigned him ample means, abundant and continuous, [generated] from [his] crops, livestock and commerce,

74:13

Hassanor Alapa : Ago manga wata a makama-masa siran

Muhsin Khan : And children to be by his side!

Sahih International : And children present [with him]

Pickthall : And sons abiding in his presence

Yusuf Ali : And sons to be by his side!-

Shakir : And sons dwelling in his presence,

Dr. Ghali : And sons always in presence,

Tafsir Jalalayn : and sons, ten or more, present [by his side], present at social gatherings and whose testimonies are listened to,

74:14

Hassanor Alapa : Ago libodan Akn skaniyan sa samporna kapakadaya

Muhsin Khan : And made life smooth and comfortable for him!

Sahih International : And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life].

Pickthall : And made (life) smooth for him.

Yusuf Ali : To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable!

Shakir : And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably;

Dr. Ghali : And made (life) smooth for him in an accessible (way).

Tafsir Jalalayn : and facilitated, extended, for him greatly, [his] livelihood, duration of life and children.

74:15

Hassanor Alapa : Oriyan iyan na maiinam iyan pn a kaphamagoman iyan

Muhsin Khan : After all that he desires that I should give more;

Sahih International : Then he desires that I should add more.

Pickthall : Yet he desireth that I should give more.

Yusuf Ali : Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);-

Shakir : And yet he desires that I should add more!

Dr. Ghali : Thereafter he expects that I increase (My favors).

Tafsir Jalalayn : Still he is eager that I should give [him] more.

74:16

Hassanor Alapa : Di, Ka mataan a miaadn skaniyan ko manga tanda Ami a somosopak

Muhsin Khan : Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).

Sahih International : No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.

Pickthall : Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations.

Yusuf Ali : By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory!

Shakir : By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications.

Dr. Ghali : Not at all! Surely he has been stubborn to Our signs.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Nay!, I shall not give him more than that. He is indeed stubborn to Our signs, [to] the Qur’ān.

74:17

Hassanor Alapa : Matatankd a tambonan Akn skaniyan sa siksa a phlikapaw

Muhsin Khan : I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment!

Sahih International : I will cover him with arduous torment.

Pickthall : On him I shall impose a fearful doom.

Yusuf Ali : Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities!

Shakir : I will make a distressing punishment overtake him.

Dr. Ghali : I will soon oppress him to a (hard) mounting (in calamities).

Tafsir Jalalayn : [Soon] I shall burden him with a trying chastisement; alternatively [sa‘ūdan means] a mountain of fire which he will be made to ascend and then fall down from, forever.

74:18

Hassanor Alapa : A skaniyan na miamimikiran na dominianka

Muhsin Khan : Verily, he thought and plotted;

Sahih International : Indeed, he thought and deliberated.

Pickthall : For lo! he did consider; then he planned -

Yusuf Ali : For he thought and he plotted;-

Shakir : Surely he reflected and guessed,

Dr. Ghali : Surely he did think and he determined!

Tafsir Jalalayn : Indeed he pondered, what to say about the Qur’ān which he heard from the Prophet (s), and decided, this, in his mind.

74:19

Hassanor Alapa : Na mialaklak skaniyan adamanaya dn i kiadianka iyan

Muhsin Khan : So let him be cursed! How he plotted!

Sahih International : So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.

Pickthall : (Self-)destroyed is he, how he planned!

Yusuf Ali : And woe to him! How he plotted!-

Shakir : But may he be cursed how he plotted;

Dr. Ghali : So, may he be slain, how he determined!

Tafsir Jalalayn : Perish he, may he be cursed and chastised, how he decided!, [perish he] whatever the nature of his decision may have been.

74:20

Hassanor Alapa : Na mialaklak skaniyan adamanaya dn i kiadianka iyan

Muhsin Khan : And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted!

Sahih International : Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.

Pickthall : Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! -

Yusuf Ali : Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!-

Shakir : Again, may he be cursed how he plotted;

Dr. Ghali : Again, (Literally: Thereafter) may he be slain, how he determined!

Tafsir Jalalayn : Again, perish he, how he decided!

74:21

Hassanor Alapa : Oriyan iyan na miamimikiran.

Muhsin Khan : Then he thought;

Sahih International : Then he considered [again];

Pickthall : Then looked he,

Yusuf Ali : Then he looked round;

Shakir : Then he looked,

Dr. Ghali : Thereafter he looked (round);

Tafsir Jalalayn : Then he contemplated, the faces of his people; or [he contemplated] with what [words] he might cast aspersions upon it.

Tagalog : Pagkatapos ay kumunot ang kanyang noo,

74:22

Hassanor Alapa : Oriyan iyan na miakarogarm so paras iyan ago miakasangingi 1869

Muhsin Khan : Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way;

Sahih International : Then he frowned and scowled;

Pickthall : Then frowned he and showed displeasure.

Yusuf Ali : Then he frowned and he scowled;

Shakir : Then he frowned and scowled,

Dr. Ghali : Thereafter he frowned, and he scowled;

Tafsir Jalalayn : Then he frowned, he contracted his face and glowered, anguished by what he wanted to say, and scowled, increasing the contracting and the glowering [in his face].

Tagalog : At tumindi ang pagkakunot nito at pagdilim ng kanyang mukha dahil sa inabot niyang matinding pag-iisip, at wala siyang natagpuan na gagamitin bilang pag-aalipusta sa Qur’ân;

74:23

Hassanor Alapa : Oriyan iyan na tomialikhod ago mithakabor

Muhsin Khan : Then he turned back and was proud;

Sahih International : Then he turned back and was arrogant

Pickthall : Then turned he away in pride

Yusuf Ali : Then he turned back and was haughty;

Shakir : Then he turned back and was big with pride,

Dr. Ghali : Thereafter he withdrew, and he waxed proud.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Then he turned his back, to faith, in disdain, scornful of following the Prophet (s),

74:24

Hassanor Alapa : Sa pitharo iyan a da ankai a Qur’ān a rowar sa salamankiro a pphaganadn

Muhsin Khan : Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old;

Sahih International : And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others].

Pickthall : And said: This is naught else than magic from of old;

Yusuf Ali : Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old;

Shakir : ~Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others);

Dr. Ghali : So he said, "Decidedly this is nothing except sorcery, transmitted relics.

Tafsir Jalalayn : and said, of what he [the Prophet] had brought: ‘This is nothing but handed-down sorcery, learnt from sorcerers;

74:25

Hassanor Alapa : Da ini a rowar sa katharo a manosiya

Muhsin Khan : "This is nothing but the word of a human being!"

Sahih International : This is not but the word of a human being."

Pickthall : This is naught else than speech of mortal man.

Yusuf Ali : "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!"

Shakir : This is naught but the word of a mortal.

Dr. Ghali : Decidedly this is nothing except the speech of mortals."

Tafsir Jalalayn : this is nothing but the speech of humans’, similar to what they [the idolaters] had said: ‘It is only a human that is teaching him’ [Q. 16:103].

74:26

Hassanor Alapa :Matatankd a pagiawn Akn skaniyan ko Naraka a Saqar 1870

Muhsin Khan : I will cast him into Hell-fire

Sahih International : I will drive him into Saqar.

Pickthall : Him shall I fling unto the burning.

Yusuf Ali : Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire!

Shakir : I will cast him into hell.

Dr. Ghali : I shall soon roast him in Saqar.

Tafsir Jalalayn : I shall [soon] admit him into Saqar! — Hell.

74:27

Hassanor Alapa : Antaai miakatokaw rka o antonaa so Saqar

Muhsin Khan : And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is?

Sahih International : And what can make you know what is Saqar?

Pickthall : - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! -

Yusuf Ali : And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is?

Shakir : And what will make you realize what hell is?

Dr. Ghali : And what makes you realize what Saqar is?

Tafsir Jalalayn : And how would you know what is Saqar? — this [interrogative] is intended to emphasise its enormity.

74:28

Hassanor Alapa : (skaniyan so) siksa a da a plambaan iyan ago daa imbagak iyan (inonta a thotongn iyan langon)

Muhsin Khan : It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)!

Sahih International : It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned],

Pickthall : It leaveth naught; it spareth naught

Yusuf Ali : Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!-

Shakir : It leaves naught nor does it spare aught.

Dr. Ghali : It neither spares (i.e., no survivors remain) nor leaves (anything) behind,

Tafsir Jalalayn : It neither spares nor leaves behind, anything of flesh or nerve, but destroys it [all], after which he is restored to his former state.

Muhsin Khan : Burning the skins!

Sahih International : Blackening the skins.

Pickthall : It shrivelleth the man.

Yusuf Ali : Darkening and changing the colour of man!

Shakir : It scorches the mortal.

Dr. Ghali : Shriveling mortals,

Tafsir Jalalayn : It burns away the flesh, scorching the surface of skin.

74:30

Hassanor Alapa : A katatagoan sa sapolo ago siaw a manga malāikat 1871

Sahih International : Over it are nineteen [angels].

Pickthall : Above it are nineteen.

Yusuf Ali : Over it are Nineteen.

Shakir : Over it are nineteen.

Dr. Ghali : Over it are nineteen.

Tafsir Jalalayn : There are nineteen [keepers] standing over it, angels, its keepers; a certain disbeliever, who was a mighty stalwart, said, ‘I will avail you seventeen of them, if you avail me [just] two’. God, exalted be He, says:

Tagalog : At ang mga tagapangansiwa sa Impiyernong ito at kumukuntrol sa pagpaparusa sa mga nasa loob nito ay labimsiyam na mga anghel na mga matitindi.

74:31

Muhsin Khan : And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example ?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind.

Sahih International : And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity.

Pickthall : We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals.

Yusuf Ali : And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind.

Shakir : And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals.

Dr. Ghali : And in no way have We made the Wardens (Literally: companions) of the Fire except Angels, and in no way have We made their (right) number except as a temptation for the ones who have disbelieved, (and) that the ones to whom the Book has been brought may have certitude, and that the ones who have believed may increase in belief, and that the ones to whom the Book has been brought and the believers may not be suspicious, and that the ones in whose hearts there is sickness and the disbelievers may say, "What would Allah intend by this as a similitude?" Thus does Allah lead into error whomever He decides, and He guides whomever He decides, and in no way does anyone know the hosts of your Lord except He. And in no way is it anything except a Reminding to the mortals.

Tafsir Jalalayn : And We have appointed only angels as wardens of the Fire, in other words, and so they cannot be withstood as these [disbelievers are wont to] imagine; and We have made their number, so, only as a stumbling-block, a cause for error, for those who disbelieve, when they then say, ‘Why are there nineteen of them?’, so that those who were given the Scripture, namely, the Jews, may be certain, of the sincerity of the Prophet (s) in [saying that] they are nineteen, for this concords with what is in their Scripture; and that those who believe, from among the People of the Scripture, may increase in faith, in affirmation of the truth, given that what the Prophet (s) has said concords with what is in their Scripture, and that those given the Scripture and the believers, [those] other than these [Jews], may not be in doubt, concerning the number of [these] angels, and that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, an uncertainty, [those] in Medina, and the disbelievers, in Mecca, may say, ‘What did God mean by this, number [as a], similitude?’ (mathalan: they referred to it thus [as a mathal] on account of it being a curious matter; in terms of syntax, it [mathalan] is a circumstantial qualifier). Thus, that is, just as the one who rejects this number is led astray and the one who affirms the truth of it is guided, God leads astray whom He will and guides whom He will. And none knows the hosts of your Lord, namely, the angels, [none knows them] in terms of their strength and their assistants, except Him. And it, that is, Saqar, is nothing but a reminder for humans.

Sahih International : Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.

Pickthall : Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah).

Yusuf Ali : Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out!

Shakir : Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out;

Dr. Ghali : No indeed, every person of them would like scrolls spread open to be brought him.

Tafsir Jalalayn : Nay, but everyone of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls, from God, exalted be He, [enjoining them] to follow the Prophet (s), as they said [before], ‘And [even then] we will not believe your ascension until you bring down for us a book that we may read’ [Q. 17:93].

Sahih International : No! But they do not fear the Hereafter.

Pickthall : Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter.

Yusuf Ali : By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter,

Shakir : Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter.

Dr. Ghali : Not at all! No indeed, (but) they do not fear the Hereafter.

Tafsir Jalalayn : No indeed! (kallā: a deterrent of what they desire). Rather they do not fear the Hereafter, that is, the chastisement thereof.

74:54

Hassanor Alapa : Di, mataan a skaniyan na pananadm

Muhsin Khan : Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition,

Sahih International : No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder

Pickthall : Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment.

Yusuf Ali : Nay, this surely is an admonition:

Shakir : Nay! it is surely an admonition.

Dr. Ghali : Not at all! Surely it is a Reminder.

Tafsir Jalalayn : No indeed! (kallā: a commencement [of a new sentence]) Assuredly it, that is, the Qur’ān, is a Reminder, an admonition.

Muhsin Khan : So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)!

Sahih International : Then whoever wills will remember it.

Pickthall : So whosoever will may heed.

Yusuf Ali : Let any who will, keep it in remembrance!

Shakir : So whoever pleases may mind it.

Dr. Ghali : So whoever decides will remember it.

Tafsir Jalalayn : So whoever wills shall remember it, he shall read it and be admonished by it.

74:56

Hassanor Alapa : Go da a khatadman iyo inonta bo sa kabaya o Allāh, a Skaniyan i khirk ko kikalkn on ago khirk ko karila.

Muhsin Khan : And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins).

Sahih International : And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness.

Pickthall : And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy.

Yusuf Ali : But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness.

Shakir : And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive.

Dr. Ghali : And in no way will they remember, except that Allah decides. He is The Source (Literally: The only Qualified One) of piety and The Source of forgiveness.

Tafsir Jalalayn : And they will not remember (yadhkurūna or [read second person plural] tadhkurūna) unless God wills [it]. He is [the One] worthy of [your] fear, and [the One] worthy to forgive, by forgiving those who fear Him.
