- [ 77 So Ndo’ a Zonosono i Sagozob ] -
سـورة المرسـلات ( The Emissaries - Yaong Mga Ipinapadala [Na Mga Hangin O Mga Anghel] ) |
Pangnal ko SūrahGiankai a sūrah na pd ko minikabalaga tomoron sa Makkah, a marani ko masa o Sūrah 75 (al Qiyāmah). Aya onayan a bandingan iyan na so maori a Alongan ago so madadalm on a piamakalklk a khisogat ko manosiya. Sa inipangangalk dn o Allāh ko manosiya ko da niyan pn kapakaoma ka an da dn a daawa niyan amay ka kasandngan iyan. Ogaid na lalayon dn so manosiya a aya ppharatiayaan iyan na so kasasan- dngan o mata niyan, sa di niyan igagatang so langowan a btad a ba dn pphanothola, taman sa miakowaa basa a “Sapolo dn i thotol na tomo so pariksa” aya maana niyan na so kiasandngan o mata. Ogaid na adn a manga kamataanan a mapia a da kasandngi o mata ogaid na lawan on sa kapapayag amay ka so manosiya na osarn iyan so pamikiran iyan. So siran oto a manga taw a sianka iran so bnar na manonompang kiran ankoto a katharo a: “So Wayl sa alongan oto na bagian o manga taw a giimamakambokhag” a miakasapolo iyan makasoy sankai a sūrah sii ko 50 a manga ayat iyan, sa mararani makaisa oman i lima ka ayat. Initoron sa Makkah, inonta so ayat a 48, ka tomioron sa Madīnah aya kadakl a ayat iyan na 50, tomioron ko oriyan o Sūrah al Humazah. بِســمِ اللهِ الرَّ حْـمَنِ الرَّحِيـــمِ
Sii sa Ingaran o Allah a Makalimoon a Masalinggagawn.
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Sa Ngalan ng Allâh, ang Pinakamahabagin, ang Napakamaawain at Ganap na Mapagmahal
77:1Hassanor Alapa : Ibt ko ndo’ 1897 a makazosonosono (a datar o kaboray a koda) Muhsin Khan : By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. Sahih International : By those [winds] sent forth in gusts Pickthall : By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another Yusuf Ali : By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); Shakir : I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), Dr. Ghali : And (by) the emissaries in a (continual) series with benevolence, Tafsir Jalalayn : By those sent in succession (‘urfan), that is, [by] the winds that follow [one another] in succession, like the mane (‘urf) of a horse, one part [of hair] coming after the other (‘urfan is in the accusative because it is a circumstantial qualifier); Tagalog : Sumumpa ang Allâh sa pamamagitan ng mga hangin kapag ito umiihip nang tuluy-tuloy at nag-uunahan sa isa’t isa, 77:2Hassanor Alapa : Go so ndo’ a sobosobo a pzagozob sa mabagr Muhsin Khan : And by the winds that blow violently, Sahih International : And the winds that blow violently Pickthall : By the raging hurricanes, Yusuf Ali : Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, Shakir : By the raging hurricanes, Dr. Ghali : Then (by) tempests (storming) tempestuously, Tafsir Jalalayn : by the raging hurricanes, the violent winds; Tagalog : At sa pamamagitan ng mga hangin na matindi ang pagdaluyong na nakapipinsala 77:3Hassanor Alapa : Go so ndo’ a pkhayor ko manga gabon Muhsin Khan : And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; Sahih International : And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] Pickthall : By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; Yusuf Ali : And scatter (things) far and wide; Shakir : Which scatter clouds to their destined places, Dr. Ghali : And (by) the spreaders spreading, Tafsir Jalalayn : by the sweeping spreaders, [by] the winds that scatter the rains; Tagalog : At sa mga anghel na pinagkatiwalaan sa pagkalat ng mga hangin tungo sa kung saan nais ng Allâh. 77:4Hassanor Alapa : Go so manga malāikat a (pthoron ko wahi a pmbagiin iran so bnar ago so batal) Muhsin Khan : And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. Sahih International : And those [angels] who bring criterion Pickthall : By those who winnow with a winnowing, Yusuf Ali : Then separate them, one from another, Shakir : Then separate them one from another, Dr. Ghali : Then (by) the ones who separate with a (distinct) separation, Tafsir Jalalayn : by the decisive discriminators, that is, [by] the verses of the Qur’ān, which discriminate between truth and falsehood, and between what is lawful and what is unlawful; Tagalog : At sa mga anghel na bumababa mula sa Allâh na dala-dala nila ang mensahe na nagpapahiwalay ng katotohanan sa kamalian, 77:5Hassanor Alapa : Go so manga malāikat a ipthmo iran so (wahī ko manga Nabī) Muhsin Khan : And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, Sahih International : And those [angels] who deliver a message Pickthall : By those who bring down the Reminder, Yusuf Ali : Then spread abroad a Message, Shakir : Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, Dr. Ghali : Then (by) the ones casting a Remembrance, Tafsir Jalalayn : by the casters of the remembrance, that is, [by] angels that descend with the revelation upon the prophets and messengers, casting the revelation onto the [various] communities [of mankind], Tagalog : At sa mga (anghel na) nagdadala ng mga kapahayagan (sa mga sugo). 77:6Hassanor Alapa : A sndod a imbgay ko kaadn odi na lalangan a 1898 (izampay kiran) Muhsin Khan : To cut off all excuses or to warn; Sahih International : As justification or warning, Pickthall : To excuse or to warn, Yusuf Ali : Whether of Justification or of Warning;- Shakir : To clear or to warn. Dr. Ghali : Excusing or warning, Tafsir Jalalayn : to excuse or to warn, that is to say, in order to excuse or to warn on behalf of God, exalted be He (a variant reading [for nudhran and ‘udhran] has nudhuran and ‘udhuran). Tagalog : At ang ipinahintulot sa ipinagbawal, at sa mga anghel na tumatanggap ng mga kapahayagan mula sa Allâh at ibinaba sa Kanyang mga Propeta; na ito ang padala ng Allâh upang walang anumang ikakatwiran ang Kanyang mga nilikha at bilang babala mula sa Kanya para sa kanila; upang wala na silang anumang katibayan. 77:7Hassanor Alapa : Mataan a so inithalad rkano na disomala a khitana dn 1899 Muhsin Khan : Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. Sahih International : Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. Pickthall : Surely that which ye are promised will befall. Yusuf Ali : Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. Shakir : Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. Dr. Ghali : Surely that which you are promised is indeed befalling! Tafsir Jalalayn : Surely that which you are promised, O disbelievers of Mecca, in the way of resurrection and chastisement, will befall: it will be, without any doubt. Tagalog : Katiyakan, ang anumang ipinangako sa inyo hinggil sa Kabilang-Buhay at anumang naroroon na paghuhukom at pagbabayad ay katiyakan na magaganap na walang pag-aalinlangan. 77:8Hassanor Alapa : Amay ka so manga bitoon na kdtn (sa mapadng so sindaw niyan) Muhsin Khan : Then when the stars lose their lights; Sahih International : So when the stars are obliterated Pickthall : So when the stars are put out, Yusuf Ali : Then when the stars become dim; Shakir : So when the stars are made to lose their light, Dr. Ghali : So when the stars will be obliterated, Tafsir Jalalayn : So when the stars are obliterated, [when] their light is extinguished, Tagalog : Kapag nawalan na ng liwanag ang mga bituin, 77:9Hassanor Alapa : Go amay ka so langit na goangan (sa lbo) 1900 Muhsin Khan : And when the heaven is cleft asunder; Sahih International : And when the heaven is opened Pickthall : And when the sky is riven asunder, Yusuf Ali : When the heaven is cleft asunder; Shakir : And when the heaven is rent asunder, Dr. Ghali : And when the heaven will be riven, Tafsir Jalalayn : and when the heaven is rent asunder, Tagalog : At kapag nagkabiyak-biyak na ang kalangitan, 77:10Hassanor Alapa : Go amay ka so manga palaw na manga aarat sa mikayontong a bayank. Muhsin Khan : And when the mountains are blown away; Sahih International : And when the mountains are blown away Pickthall : And when the mountains are blown away, Yusuf Ali : When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; Shakir : And when the mountains are carried away as dust, Dr. Ghali : And when the mountains will be crushed, Tafsir Jalalayn : and when the mountains are blown away, crushed to pieces and blown in the air, Tagalog : At kapag nagliparan na ang mga kabundukan at kumalat nang parang alikabok na ikinalat ng hangin, 77:11Hassanor Alapa : Go amay ka so manga sogo’ na timoon siran sa waqto a mattndo Muhsin Khan : And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; Sahih International : And when the messengers' time has come... Pickthall : And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - Yusuf Ali : And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- Shakir : And when the messengers are gathered at their appointed time Dr. Ghali : And when the Messengers' (time) is fixed- Tafsir Jalalayn : and when the time is set for the [testimony of the] messengers (read uqqitat or wuqqitat), that is to say, [when] they are gathered to an appointed time, Tagalog : At kapag itinakda na sa mga Sugo ang Oras upang hukuman ang pagitan nila at ang mga tao, na sa kanila sila ay ipinadala, 77:12Hassanor Alapa : Sa antonaa a agawii i thaalikan on? Muhsin Khan : For what Day are these signs postponed? Sahih International : For what Day was it postponed? Pickthall : For what day is the time appointed? Yusuf Ali : For what Day are these (portents) deferred? Shakir : To what day is the doom fixed? Dr. Ghali : To whichever Day is (this) term appointed? Tafsir Jalalayn : For what day — for a tremendous day — has it been appointed?, [it has been appointed] for witnessing [of the messengers] against their communities [to the effect] that they delivered [their messages from God]. Tagalog : Sasabihin: Gaano ba kadakila ang Araw na ito na kung saan inantala ang mga Sugo? 77:13Hassanor Alapa : Sii ko gawii a kagintas Muhsin Khan : For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). Sahih International : For the Day of Judgement. Pickthall : For the Day of Decision. Yusuf Ali : For the Day of Sorting out. Shakir : To the day of decision. Dr. Ghali : To the Day of Verdict. Tafsir Jalalayn : For the Day of Decision, for creatures (from this one may infer the response to [the clauses beginning with] idhā, ‘when’, in other words, ‘[when …], the decision will be made for [all] creatures’). Tagalog : Inantala hanggang dumating ang Araw ng Pagpasiya at Paghuhukom sa pagitan ng mga nilikha. 77:14Hassanor Alapa : Go antaa i miakatokaw rka o antonaa so gawii a kagintas Muhsin Khan : And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? Sahih International : And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? Pickthall : And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - Yusuf Ali : And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? Shakir : And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? Dr. Ghali : And what makes you realize what the Day of Verdict is? Tafsir Jalalayn : And how would you know what the Day of Decision is? — emphasising the enormity of its terror. Tagalog : At ano ang makapagpapabatid sa iyo, O ikaw na tao, kung ano ang Araw ng Paghuhukom na ito at kung gaano ang kagimbal-gimbal na mangyayari roon? 77:15Hassanor Alapa : So siksa a wayl sa alongan oto na bagian o manga taw a giimamakambokhag Muhsin Khan : Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! Sahih International : Woe, that Day, to the deniers. Pickthall : Woe unto the repudiators on that day! Yusuf Ali : Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! Shakir : Woe on that day to the rejecters. Dr. Ghali : Upon that Day woe to the beliers! Tafsir Jalalayn : Woe to the deniers on that day! — a threat of chastisement for them. Tagalog : Matinding kapighatian sa Araw na yaon sa mga di-naniwala sa ipinangakong Araw na ito! 77:16Hassanor Alapa : Ba Ami da antiora so miangaoona a pagtaw Muhsin Khan : Did We not destroy the ancients? Sahih International : Did We not destroy the former peoples? Pickthall : Destroyed We not the former folk, Yusuf Ali : Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? Shakir : Did We not destroy the former generations? Dr. Ghali : Did We not cause the earliest people to perish; Tafsir Jalalayn : Did We not destroy the ancients, for their denial, in other words, We certainly destroyed them, Tagalog : Hindi ba pinuksa Namin ang mga naunang sambayanan; dahil sa kanilang di-paniniwala sa mga Sugo na tulad ng sambayanan ni Nûh, ni `آd at ni Thamoud? 77:17Hassanor Alapa : Oriyan iyan na itondog Ami kiran so pagtaw a pkhaori Muhsin Khan : So shall We make later generations to follow them. Sahih International : Then We will follow them with the later ones. Pickthall : Then caused the latter folk to follow after? Yusuf Ali : So shall We make later (generations) follow them. Shakir : Then did We follow them up with later ones. Dr. Ghali : Thereafter We make the later generations follow them up? Tafsir Jalalayn : then made the latter folk follow them?, [the latter folk] of those who denied, such as the disbelievers of Mecca, whom We will destroy. Tagalog : Pagkatapos ay isusunod Namin ang mga huli pang dumating na mga sambayanan na mga katulad din nila sa di-paniniwala at paglabag. Ang katulad nitong matinding pagpupuksa ay gagawin din Namin sa mga masasama mula sa mga walang pananampalataya na mga taga-Makkah; dahil sa kanilang di-paniniwala sa Sugong si Propeta Muhammad. 77:18Hassanor Alapa : Datar oto a pnggolawlaan Ami ko manga baradosa Muhsin Khan : Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! Sahih International : Thus do We deal with the criminals. Pickthall : Thus deal We ever with the guilty. Yusuf Ali : Thus do We deal with men of sin. Shakir : Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. Dr. Ghali : Thus We perform against the criminals. Tafsir Jalalayn : So, just as We dealt with those who denied, will We deal with the guilty, with every individual who will be guilty in the future, and destroy them. Tagalog : Ganito Kami makitungo sa mga kriminal at mga tumanggi sa katotohanan. 77:19Hassanor Alapa : So siksa a wayl sa alongan oto na bagian o manga taw a giimamakam-bokhag Muhsin Khan : Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! Sahih International : Woe, that Day, to the deniers. Pickthall : Woe unto the repudiators on that day! Yusuf Ali : Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! Shakir : Woe on that day to the rejecters. Dr. Ghali : Upon that Day woe to the beliers! Tafsir Jalalayn : Woe to the deniers on that day! — [reiterated] for emphasis. Tagalog : Kapighatian at pagkawasak sa Araw ng Muling Pagkabuhay sa sinumang hindi naniwala sa Kaisahan ng Allâh, sa pagka-Propeta ni Propeta Muhammad, sa Muling Pagkabuhay at Paghuhukom! 77:20Hassanor Alapa : Ba ami skano da adna a phoon sa ig a malobay 1901 Muhsin Khan : Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? Sahih International : Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? Pickthall : Did We not create you from a base fluid Yusuf Ali : Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- Shakir : Did We not create you from contemptible water? Dr. Ghali : Did We not create you of a contemptible water, Tafsir Jalalayn : Did We not create you from a base fluid, one that is delicate — and this is semen, Tagalog : Hindi ba nilikha Namin kayo, O kayong mga walang pananampalataya mula sa walang halaga na lusaw na bagay na ito ay ‘Nutfah,’ 77:21Hassanor Alapa : Na inadn Ami skaniyan sa tampata a mabkn (so kandangan o ina) Muhsin Khan : Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), Sahih International : And We placed it in a firm lodging Pickthall : Which We laid up in a safe abode Yusuf Ali : The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, Shakir : Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, Dr. Ghali : Then We made it in an established reposing, Tafsir Jalalayn : then lodged it in a secure abode, that is, the womb, Tagalog : At pagkatapos inilagay Namin itong lusaw na bagay na ito sa matatag at ligtas na lugar na ito ay sinapupunan ng kababaihan, 77:22Hassanor Alapa : Sa taman sa dianka a katotokawan Muhsin Khan : For a known period (determined by gestation)? Sahih International : For a known extent. Pickthall : For a known term? Yusuf Ali : For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? Shakir : Till an appointed term, Dr. Ghali : Till a known (term) determined? Tafsir Jalalayn : for a known span?, namely, the time for delivery. Tagalog : Hanggang sa dumating ang itinakdang oras na ito ay mabuo, na bukod-tanging ang Allâh lamang ang Siyang Nakaaalam 77:23Hassanor Alapa : Na dominianka Kami na miakapiapia Kami a giindidianka Muhsin Khan : So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). Sahih International : And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. Pickthall : Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! Yusuf Ali : For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). Shakir : So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). Dr. Ghali : So We determined; so Excellent the Determiners are We! Tafsir Jalalayn : Thus We were able, to do this; so [how] excellent able ones We are! Tagalog : At itinakda Namin ang paglikha nito, paghugis nito at pagluluwal nito, at Kami ang pinakamabuting Tagapagtakda. 77:24Hassanor Alapa : So siksa a wayl sa alongan oto na bagian o giimamakambokhag Muhsin Khan : Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! Sahih International : Woe, that Day, to the deniers. Pickthall : Woe unto the repudiators on that day! Yusuf Ali : Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! Shakir : Woe on that day to the rejecters. Dr. Ghali : Upon that Day woe to the beliers! Tafsir Jalalayn : Woe to the deniers on that day! Tagalog : Kapighatian at pagkawasak sa Araw ng Muling Pagkabuhay sa mga hindi naniwala sa Aming kapangyarihan! 77:25Hassanor Alapa : Ba Ami da baloya so lopa 1902 a pananagoay a pthanggong Muhsin Khan : Have We not made the earth a receptacle? Sahih International : Have We not made the earth a container Pickthall : Have We not made the earth a receptacle Yusuf Ali : Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. Shakir : Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, Dr. Ghali : Have We not made the earth a receptacle. Tafsir Jalalayn : Have We not made the earth a receptacle (kifātan is a verbal noun, from kafata, meaning damma, ‘enclosed’), that is, an enclosure, Tagalog : Di ba nilikha Namin ang kalupaang ito na kung saan sa ibabaw nito kayo ay namumuhay, 77:26Hassanor Alapa : Sa manga oyagoyag ago miamatay Muhsin Khan : For the living and the dead. Sahih International : Of the living and the dead? Pickthall : Both for the living and the dead, Yusuf Ali : The living and the dead, Shakir : The living and the dead, Dr. Ghali : For the living and the dead? Tafsir Jalalayn : for the living, on its surface, and the dead, inside it, Tagalog : Na nagsasama-sama sa ibabaw nito ang lahat ng may buhay na hindi kayang bilangin, at ganoon din sa ilalim nito ang mga walang buhay na hindi rin kayang bilangin, 77:27Hassanor Alapa : Go inadnan Ami sa manga palaw a manga poporo’ ago piakainom Ami skano sa ig a tabang (a ragiray sa bakrng) Muhsin Khan : And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? Sahih International : And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. Pickthall : And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? Yusuf Ali : And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? Shakir : And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? Dr. Ghali : And We made therein lofty anchorages, (i.e., mountains) and We made you to drink water grateful (to taste). Tafsir Jalalayn : and set therein soaring mountains and give you sweet water to drink? Tagalog : At naglagay Kami rito ng mga matatag at mga mataas na mga kabundukan; upang hindi kayo basta-bastang mayayanig nito, at pinainom Namin kayo sa tabang ng napakasarap na inumin, 77:28Hassanor Alapa : So siksa a wayl sa alongan oto na bagian o manga taw a giimama-kambokhag Muhsin Khan : Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! Sahih International : Woe, that Day, to the deniers. Pickthall : Woe unto the repudiators on that day! Yusuf Ali : Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! Shakir : Woe on that day to the rejecters. Dr. Ghali : Upon that Day woe to the beliers! Tafsir Jalalayn : Woe to the deniers on that day! Tagalog : Kapighatian at pagkawasak sa Araw ng Muling Pagkabuhay sa mga yaong hindi naniwala sa mga biyayang ito! 77:29Hassanor Alapa : Lontana kano ko nganin a so miaadn kano a gii niyo pakambokhagn. Muhsin Khan : (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! Sahih International : [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. Pickthall : (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; Yusuf Ali : (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! Shakir : Walk on to that which you called a lie. Dr. Ghali : Go off to what you used to cry as lies! Tafsir Jalalayn : And on the Day of Resurrection it will be said to the deniers: Depart to that, chastisement, which you used to deny! Tagalog : Sasabihin sa mga walang pananampalataya sa Araw ng Muling Pagkabuhay: Maglakad kayo tungo sa Impiyernong-Apoy na kinagawian ninyong hindi paniwalaan sa daigdig, na patuloy kayong maglakad! 77:30Hassanor Alapa : Lontana kano sa along a bl a (siksa) a adn a tlo a sokowan iyan 1903 Muhsin Khan : "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, Sahih International : Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns Pickthall : Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, Yusuf Ali : "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, Shakir : Walk on to the covering having three branches, Dr. Ghali : Go off to a three-pronged (Literally: comprising three prongs) shade. Tafsir Jalalayn : Depart to a triple-forked shadow — this is the smoke of Hell, which, as it rises, splits into three parts because of its magnitude — Tagalog : At magpalilim kayo sa usok ng Impiyernong-Apoy na nahahati sa tatlong bahagi, 77:31Hassanor Alapa : A da a khasirongan on ago di phakarn ko kayaw o sorazab o apoy Muhsin Khan : "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." Sahih International : [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." Pickthall : (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. Yusuf Ali : "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. Shakir : Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. Dr. Ghali : With no plenteous shade and of no avail against the flames; Tafsir Jalalayn : which is neither shady, [neither] protective, [unable] to shade them from the heat of that Day, nor of any avail against, [nor] wards off from them anything of, the flame, the Fire. Tagalog : Na hindi nakapagbibigay ng lilim upang magpaginhawa sa inyo mula sa init sa Araw na yaon, at hindi kayo aalisin sa init ng naglalagablab na apoy na ito. 77:32Hassanor Alapa : A phlbad sa manga apoy 1904 a ndadatar o mala a kalibonto Muhsin Khan : Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], Sahih International : Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, Pickthall : Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, Yusuf Ali : "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, Shakir : Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, Dr. Ghali : Surely it throws up sparks like palace (s) (Or: dry faggots). Tafsir Jalalayn : as if they were [dark] yellow camels (jimālātun is the plural of jimalatun, the plural of jamalun; a variant reading has jimālatun), in terms of their shape and colour. In hadīth [it is stated], ‘The sparks of humans [thrown into the air by the Fire] are black as pitch (qīr)’; the Arabs call dark camels sufr, ‘yellow’, because a touch of yellow is mixed with their blackish colour, and therefore it is said that ‘yellow’ in this verse [actually] means ‘black’, on account of what has been mentioned; but some say no [to this interpretation]; (sharar is the plural of sharāra; qīr is qār, ‘pitch’). Sahih International : Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs Pickthall : Lo! those who kept their duty are amid shade and fountains, Yusuf Ali : As to the Righteous, they shall be amidst (cool) shades and springs (of water). Yusuf Ali : "Eat ye and drink ye to your heart's content: for that ye worked (Righteousness). Shakir : Eat and drink pleasantly because of what you did. Dr. Ghali : "Eat and drink, rejoicing with wholesome appetite, for whatever you were doing." Tafsir Jalalayn : ‘Eat and drink in [full] enjoyment (hanī’an is a circumstantial qualifier, in other words, mutahanni’īna) for what you used to do’, in the way of obedience. Eat and enjoy yourselves (in this worldly life) for a little while. Verily, you are the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.). Sahih International : [O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals. Pickthall : Eat and take your ease (on earth) a little. Lo! ye are guilty. Yusuf Ali : (O ye unjust!) Eat ye and enjoy yourselves (but) a little while, for that ye are Sinners. Shakir : Eat and enjoy yourselves for a little; surely you are guilty. Dr. Ghali : "Eat and enjoy (your life) a little: surely you are criminals". Tafsir Jalalayn : ‘Eat and enjoy — addressing the disbelievers in this world — for a little, time, at the end of which comes death — this is meant as a threat for them.
