98:1Hassanor Alapa : Da maadn so siran oto a manga kāfir a pd ko tioronan sa kitab ago so manga pananakoto a pphitas siran (magawa siran ko paratiaya iran) sa taman sa di siran maoma o marayag a tanda a (so Qur’ān ago so kiasogoa ko Mohammad) 2050 Muhsin Khan : Those who disbelieve from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and among Al-Mushrikun, were not going to leave (their disbelief) until there came to them clear evidence. Sahih International : Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted [from misbelief] until there came to them clear evidence - Pickthall : Those who disbelieve among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters could not have left off (erring) till the clear proof came unto them, Yusuf Ali : Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, were not going to depart (from their ways) until there should come to them Clear Evidence,- Shakir : Those who disbelieved from among the followers of the Book and the polytheists could not have separated (from the faithful) until there had come to them the clear evidence: Dr. Ghali : (The ones) who have disbelieved among the population of the Book (Or: family of the Book; i.e., the Jews and Christians) and the associators (Those who associate others with Allah) could not have left off (erring) until the Supreme Evidence came up to them- Tafsir Jalalayn : The disbelievers from among (min: explicative) the People of the Scripture and the idolaters, that is, the idol-worshippers (wa’l-mushrikīna is a supplement to ahl, ‘the People of’) were not going to leave off (munfakkīna is the predicate of yakun, ‘were’), that is to say, they were not going to abandon their ways, until the clear proof, namely, Muhammad (s), should come to them, that is, [until] it came to them; Tagalog : Hindi tinalikuran ng mga walang pananampalataya na mga ‘Ahlil Kitâb’ – nagtatangan ng Kasulatan na mga Hudyo at mga Kristiyano, at ng mga ‘Mushrikîn’ – nagtatambal o sumasamba ng iba bukod sa Allâh ang kanilang maling paniniwala, hanggang dumating sa kanila ang malinaw na palatandaan na ipinangako sa kanila ayon sa mga naunang kasulatan. 98:2Hassanor Alapa : A sogo’ a phoon ko Allāh a pmbatia sa kitab a sosotin Muhsin Khan : A Messenger (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) from Allah, reciting (the Quran) purified pages [purified from Al-Batil (falsehood, etc.)]. Sahih International : A Messenger from Allah , reciting purified scriptures Pickthall : A messenger from Allah, reading purified pages Yusuf Ali : An messenger from Allah, rehearsing scriptures kept pure and holy: Shakir : An messenger from Allah, reciting pure pages, Dr. Ghali : A Messenger from Allah, reciting Scrolls purified, Tafsir Jalalayn : a messenger from God (rasūlun mina’Llāhi substitutes for al-bayyinatu, ‘the clear proof’), namely, the Prophet (s), reciting pages purified, of [all] falsehood, Tagalog : At ito ay ang Sugo ng Allâh na si Muhammad (saw) na nagbibigkas sa kanila ng Qur’ân na nasa dalisay na pahina (Kasulatan). 98:3Hassanor Alapa : A kadadalman sa manga kokoman a mathito Muhsin Khan : Containing correct and straight laws from Allah. Sahih International : Within which are correct writings. Pickthall : Containing correct scriptures. Yusuf Ali : Wherein are laws (or decrees) right and straight. Shakir : Wherein are all the right ordinances. Dr. Ghali : Therein are ever-upright Books. Tafsir Jalalayn : wherein are upright precepts, written rulings that are upright, that is to say, one who recites what contains all that, and that is the Qur’ān. Thus some of them believed in it, while others disbelieved. 98:4Hassanor Alapa : Go da masagomparak so siran oto a tioronan sa kitab inonta ko orian o kiaomaa kiran o mapayag a tanda (so Mohammad) Muhsin Khan : And the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) differed not until after there came to them clear evidence. (i.e. Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever was revealed to him). Sahih International : Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence. Pickthall : Nor were the People of the Scripture divided until after the clear proof came unto them. Yusuf Ali : Nor did the People of the Book make schisms, until after there came to them Clear Evidence. Shakir : And those who were given the Book did not become divided except after clear evidence had come to them. Dr. Ghali : And in no way did the ones to whom the Book was brought (become) disunited, except ever after the Supreme Evidence came up to them. Tafsir Jalalayn : And those who were given the Scripture did not become divided, regarding belief in him [the Prophet] (s), except after the clear proof had come to them, namely, the Prophet (s) — or the Qur’ān which he brought as his miracle. Before his (s) arrival they had all agreed to believe in him when he would come; then those who disbelieved in him from among them became envious of him. 98:5Hassanor Alapa : Go da a inisogo kiran a rowar sa kasimbaa iran ko Allāh 2051 sa bonayonn iran on so pangni, a khipagiinontolan (siran) ago itindg iran so sambayang ago ibgay ran so zakat ago gioto so agama a mathito Muhsin Khan : And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat: and that is the right religion. Sahih International : And they were not commanded except to worship Allah , [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion. Pickthall : And they are ordered naught else than to serve Allah, keeping religion pure for Him, as men by nature upright, and to establish worship and to pay the poor-due. That is true religion. Yusuf Ali : And they have been commanded no more than this: To worship Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith); to establish regular prayer; and to practise regular charity; and that is the Religion right and Straight. Shakir : And they were not enjoined anything except that they should serve Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience, upright, and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and that is the right religion. Dr. Ghali : And in no way were they commanded anything except to worship Allah, making the religion His faithfully (and) unswerving, and to keep up prayer, and bring the Zakat; (i.e., pay the poor-dues) and that is the Religion most upright. Tafsir Jalalayn : And they were only commanded, in their Scripture, the Torah and the Gospel, to worship God (illā li-ya‘budū means illā an ya‘budū, an having been omitted and the lām added) devoting religion purely to Him, [free] of any idolatry, as hanīfs, upright in [following] the religion of Abraham and the religion of Muhammad (s), when he would come — so how is it that they disbelieved in him?, and to establish prayer and pay the alms. That is the upright religion, the upright creed. 98:6Hassanor Alapa : Mataan a so siran oto a manga kafir a pd ko tioronan sa kitāb ago so manga mushrik (pananakoto) na sii siran ko naraka Jahannam sa tatap siran on, siran oto na siran so marata a kaadn Muhsin Khan : Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Quran and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures. Sahih International : Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures. Pickthall : Lo! those who disbelieve, among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters, will abide in fire of hell. They are the worst of created beings. Yusuf Ali : Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures. Shakir : Surely those who disbelieve from among the followers of the Book and the polytheists shall be in the fire of hell, abiding therein; they are the worst of men. Dr. Ghali : Surely (the ones) who have disbelieved among the population of the Book (Or: family of the Book; i.e., the Jews and Christians) and the associators (Those who associate others with Allah) will be in the Fire of Hell, eternally (abiding) therein; those are they who are the most evil beings (Literally: Initiated creatures). Tafsir Jalalayn : Truly the disbelievers from among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters shall be in the fire of Hell, to abide therein (khālidīna: an implied circumstantial qualifier, in other words, it will be decreed for them by God, exalted be He, to abide therein) — those are the worst of creatures. 98:7Hassanor Alapa : Mataan a so siran oto a miamaratiaya ago 2052 minggalbk siran sa manga pipia na siran oto na siran so manga pipia a kaadn. Muhsin Khan : Verily, those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) including all obligations ordered by Islam] and do righteous good deeds, they are the best of creatures. Sahih International : Indeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds - those are the best of creatures. Pickthall : (And) lo! those who believe and do good works are the best of created beings. Yusuf Ali : Those who have faith and do righteous deeds,- they are the best of creatures. Shakir : (As for) those who believe and do good, surely they are the -best of men. Dr. Ghali : Surely (the ones) who have believed and done deeds of righteousness, those are they who are the most charitable (i.e., best) of beings. Tafsir Jalalayn : Truly those who believe and perform righteous deeds — they are the best of creatures (al-bariyya means al-khalīqa). 98:8Hassanor Alapa : Aya balas iran ko Kadnan iran na manga kasorgaan a “adn” 2053 a pphamanoga ko kababaan iyan so manga lawas a ig, sa tatap siran on sa dayon sa dayon, miasoat so Allāh sii kiran ago miasoat siran on, gioto na rk i taw a inikalk iyan so Kadnan iyan. Muhsin Khan : Their reward with their Lord is 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (Gardens of Eternity), underneath which rivers flow, they will abide therein forever, Allah Well-Pleased with them, and they with Him. That is for him who fears his Lord. Sahih International : Their reward with Allah will be gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord. Pickthall : Their reward is with their Lord: Gardens of Eden underneath which rivers flow, wherein they dwell for ever. Allah hath pleasure in them and they have pleasure in Him. This is (in store) for him who feareth his Lord. Yusuf Ali : Their reward is with Allah: Gardens of Eternity, beneath which rivers flow; they will dwell therein for ever; Allah well pleased with them, and they with Him: all this for such as fear their Lord and Cherisher. Shakir : Their reward with their Lord is gardens of perpetuity beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein for ever; Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him; that is for him who fears his Lord. Dr. Ghali : Their recompense is with their Lord: Gardens of Adn (Eden) from beneath which rivers run, eternally (abiding) therein forever. Allah is satisfied with them, and they are satisfied with Him. That is for him who is apprehensive of his Lord. Tafsir Jalalayn : Their reward with their Lord will be Gardens of Eden, as a residence, underneath which rivers flow, wherein they shall abide forever. God is pleased with them, because of [their] obedience of Him, and they are pleased with Him, because of His reward. That is [the reward] for him who fears his Lord, [for him] who fears His punishment and hence desists from disobeying Him, exalted be He.
